FLYING WHALES' goal is to develop and industrialize a unique 60 tons Large Capacity Airship, dedicated to freight transport. This solution will embark disruptive technologies addressing world challenges: low environmental impact and low operating cost.

This innovative solution is developed in cooperation with a consortium of French and foreign partners in the aerospace industry. Above all, this project currently gathers more than 100 passionate who represent the aviation great pioneers of our time.

You will be in charge of developing the operations ecosystem of FLYING WHALES SERVICES, the future airline company that will operate the LCA60T.

As Meteorologist specialist, you will have to:

  • initiate and act as privileged point of contact with meteorological and/or atmospheric organizations
  • provide in-house expertise and support any departments about design activities and mission planning and definition
  • ensure that the meteorological constraints are properly understood and integrated by design and operations teams and prepare the consideration of meteorological conditions in the execution of the missions.
  • ensure proper and consistent meteorological information is available for any department and propose tools to retrieve/visualize meteorological information
  • Propose innovative systems (like software systems, weather forecast support, etc…) that will help operation, mission planning and scheduling, and real-time support to operations


You have a significant (10 years) experience in Weather Project Manager, with a transverse vision on all operation-related activities.

You have held successful responsibilities in projects coordination and development. You have a strong experience in guiding technical teams and working in a team environment.

Skills required:

  • Experience in aircraft operations, maintenance and training,
  • Possess a complete understanding of mission requirements,
  • Ability to understand the specificities of airship operations,
  • Familiar in dealing with authorities and regulatory frameworks,
  • Good communication skills!

Nice to have skills:

  • Advanced knowledge in meteorology with developed skills on aviation meteorology (ICAO annex 3 products...),
  • Computer science: Human Machine Interface, software languages and office automation,
  • Avionics and Telecommunication knowledge in aeronautics.

  • You must be willing to build and develop a one-of-a-kind activity.

Very good English (C1), Quality focused, rigor & big appetite for this adventure are mandatory!
